Brings tears to my eyes, one needs to see the words in this hymn. Movie "The enemy below" introduced me to this song when captured german sailors were aboard U.S. Navy destroyer, sending one of their comrade's to his eternal grave. I always wondered if the song the German sailors were singing was authentic. Got my answer years later when i stumbled across it on Utube, still brings tears to my eyes. You have got to see this movie, it is an excellent example of how truly sad war is for both sides. GOD save us from ourselves!
